This tour leads you north western direction from Berlin.
It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to get to Neuruppin. The native town of the famous poet Theodor Fontane and the architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel was rebuilt in neo-classical style after it was destroyed by a fire in 1787.
A georgeous
temple garden built by the celebrated architect Knobelsdorff is a relict of the
time of Frederic the II.
In Rheinsberg
we will visit the castle where Frederic the II. spent his young years before he
left it to his brother Henry. The
brothers commemorated many operas and parties here.
It is an ideal location to take a walk through the parklands and combine a hint of history with a lovely landscape.
After lingering through the royal parks the tour continues through the beautiful lake area of Mecklenburg, to a habour where you enter the boat to Waren.
There you
can promenade through the picturesque Old Town with a wide variety of
Restaurants offering typical fish specialties.
