A permanent Jewish Community established in Berlin since the 17th century.

The Jewish Community had an extremely strong influence on the culture and art development in Berlin.

Some famous Jewish residents in our city were: Max Liebermann (artist), Alfred Döblin (author)
and James H. Simon(patron of art).

Today they are about 12.000 Jewish people living in Berlin – the majority came over from former Russia.
